Page Topics For Funder Questions

1 - What is your sustainable business model?  Revenue generation

     a) Crowd Source Social Media Campaigns

     b) Event Participation Donation Seeking

     c) Convention Events Ticket Sales and Pay-To play For Participants and Speakers

     d) Membership Drives

How to present a sustainable business model as a non-profit to an investor

Use this exact sequence (it converts extremely well):

  1. The Problem (10 sec)
“Today, [target population] faces [specific problem]. Traditional non-profits rely on grants and donations that are unpredictable and rarely scale.”

  2. Your Mission (5 sec)
“Our mission is to [solve the problem permanently].”

  3. The Business Model (core) (20 sec)
“Instead of depending on philanthropy, we have built a scalable commercial engine: we [sell/deliver/license] [product/service] to [paying customer segment] who happily pay because [clear value proposition]. This generates $[current or projected] in high-margin earned revenue.”

  4. Impact Leverage (15 sec)
“Every dollar of profit is reinvested into the mission. That means one paying customer can fund [X amount of impact]. Last year we delivered [concrete impact metric] while reducing donor dependency from 90% to 28%.”

  5. The Ask & Vision (10 sec)
“We are now raising $[amount] in mission-aligned capital to [specific growth lever]. This will take us to $[next revenue milestone] and [bigger impact milestone], eventually making us fully self-sustaining or even a net contributor to the sector.”

2 - What differentiates you from other similar nonprofits?

Suggestion - highlight MRUSA's collaboration of smaller creators that have extensive reach through their loyal, connected            audiences - (cross pollination tactics) and promoting the idea that these up-and-coming creators are a valuable                                information/revenue source that is often left "untapped" due to the popularity of larger shows that the public is getting                bored of as they are now part of the "main-stream" media messaging in the streaming landscape.  It is a new idea, no one              has done this yet.

     a) Putting emphasis on crowd reach via influencers and content creators

     b) Creating messaging and marketing via influencers and podcasters by influencers and podcasters.

     c) Creating events and public speaking engagements for influencers and content creators to promote Message Right USA              messaging.

     d) There are currently no orgs, whether concerned with climate or not, providing messaging, education, or action in tree                    planting or the knowledge of how trees or plants effect the carbon the climate activists are concerned with.

3 - Are you meeting a need based on valid research?

     a) There currently are no organizations that make use of the market share and market value of the podcast and influencer                  industry to promote education in patriotic values, civic knowledge, or ethical social cohesion.
Suggestion - what if we were to perform the "research"?  The metrics are readily available via paid services.  Compile the              data and present it as research.

4 - How will you measure your outcomes?   All of these below points can be quantified, reviewed and documented at board meetings and then produced in our annual report.

     a) By documenting community reach through recording follower counts of enlisted influencers and content creators.

     b) By conducting surveys and polls

     c) By documenting viewers reached with media campaigns

     d) By noting membership and participation.

5 - Who are you as a founder?  What's your background?  What's your connection to this issue?

6 - What are your values and how do those values play out in an organization?

(Personal background and what I believe and why I believe it)

7 - What ethical policies will you put in place to keep your nonprofit accountable?

     a) Message Right USA will operate and hold itself accountable to all legal requirements and operate within the boundaries               of Christian moral principle so as to provide role modeling for any individuals or groups they come into contact with.
holding regular board meetings and documenting the discussion/outcomes and plans for moving forward.
ensuring the board holds one another accountable - for example

  • Conflict of Interest Policy (annual) - Prevents self-dealing, required by IRS Form 990 - Public disclosure of conflicts on website/Form 990

  • Document Retention & Destruction Policy - Protects against legal risk, required for IRS compliance - Email & financial record retention schedules - Prohibition on destruction when investigation is pending

  • Gift Acceptance Policy - Prevents acceptance of “toxic” donations - Refusal rights for restricted gifts that don’t align with mission - Limits on donor influence over programs

  • Board Attendance & Engagement Policy - Stops “ghost directors” - Must attend ≥75% of meetings - Miss 3 in a row → automatic review/removal process

  • Sunset or Impact Review Clause - Every major program reviewed every 5–7 years: continue, pivot, or kill if impact < threshold

  • Third-Party Certification - GuideStar/Candid Platinum or Gold Seal, Charity Navigator 4-star, GreatNonprofits Top-Rated, etc.

8 - What are other orgs doing in your community and how can their work compliment yours?

     Turning Point USA

     The Heritage Foundation

9 - What are your ethical accounting practices that will keep your nonprofit legal and trustworthy?

Develop the following relevant procedures into a board document that we agree to adhere to within our practices - see bullet points below

  • Post the last 3–5 years of audited financial statements + full IRS Form 990 (with Schedule B redacted if needed) on your website within 30 days of filing.

  • Allocate all expenses (salary, rent, travel, IT, etc.) across Program / Management & General / Fundraising using a consistent, documented methodology (e.g., time studies, square footage, actual usage).

  • Never artificially inflate “program” ratios by misclassifying joint costs (e.g., calling a fundraising appeal with a tiny educational component “100% program”).

  • Follow the GAAP rules for joint-cost allocation (SOP 98-2 / ASC 958-720) exactly — most scandals start here.

  • Treat temporarily and permanently restricted gifts as legally untouchable until conditions are met.

  • Never “borrow” from restricted funds for cash-flow gaps (even if you intend to pay it back).

  • Release restrictions only when the exact donor intent is satisfied — and document the release in board minutes.

  • Have a board-approved reserves policy (target 6–24 months of operating expenses).

  • Never describe normal operating reserves as “endowment” to inflate perceived financial health.

  • Pay staff and executives only what is “reasonable” under IRS Intermediate Sanctions rules.

  • Disclose every related-party transaction (board member’s company being paid, family members on payroll, etc.) on Form 990 and in audited footnotes.

  • Never let a donor “park” money with you to get a tax deduction and then wire it back to a for-profit entity they control.

  • Fiscal sponsorship only for legitimate 501(c)(3)-eligible projects with written agreements and real oversight.

  • Dual signatories on checks or transfers above a threshold (e.g., $5,000–$10,000).

  • Monthly bank reconciliations performed by someone independent of cash handling.

  • Annual surprise audit or internal control review.

  • Clear privacy policy on how long you keep credit-card data and how it’s secured (PCI compliance).

  • Never sell, rent, or trade donor lists without explicit opt-in.

  • Mandatory annual fraud-risk assessment.

  • Segregation of duties (the person who approves invoices ≠ the person who signs checks).

  • The most trusted non-profits now voluntarily adopt SOC 2-level financial controls and publish a one-page “Financial Ethics & Transparency Commitment” that includes:

  • 100% GAAP + FASB ASC 958 compliance

  • Annual independent audit + clean opinion

  • Functional expenses allocated using time studies

  • Full 990 + audited financials on homepage

  • Board-approved compensation and reserves policies

     a) Public access accounting and reporting.

     b) Outside accounting firm and single point of access treasurer oversight

FOUNDING PRINCIPLES

Starting Point Base Values

God Is The Starting Point:  Our creation is the starting point of our “unalienable rights, endowed by our creator”.

American Values Starting Point:  The Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, all should be the starting point for every American, no matter their politics.

Why Christian Values:  The word of God is the foundation of the creation of this nation and the moral compass by which we guide ourselves.

The Individual:  We value meritocracy.  Every individual should be weighed and measured by the content of their character and nothing else.

This Nation:  Was founded and ordained to be the beacon of Liberty and Freedom to the rest of the world.

America First:  Nation-building at home. Decentralize power to avoid flawed human rule.  Accountability to for our representatives and bureaucrats to work for the good of the American people.

Power To The People:  The right of the people to hold accountable their representatives.  America First should be the starting point.

Civics:  Not only does America need more education on civics and government process, but also the understanding that the civil government process is just as, if not more, important at the city and county level as it is at the federal level.

1st Amendment:  The government’s responsibility is to protect our free speech and nothing more.

Free Speech In America:  Discourse and debate are the foundation of a cohesive society.

2nd Amendment:  Shall Not Means Shall Not.

American Sovereignty:  Controlling the border and facing our enemies. All illegal immigrants pose a national security threat and undermine national security as well as cultural identity.

Cultural Identity:  The American Ideal, these standards and principles on which we founded is the agreement of government and citizenry to establish our shared values.  None other should or could be acceptable and still maintain cohesion.

Life:  Life starts at conception.  All abortion is murder.

Abortion:  Is the devaluing of life to escape personal responsibility.  Murder.

Identity Politics:  DEI is racism and classism and is a weapon used to destabilize society and has been used throughout history for the very same purpose and none other.

Trans “Rights”:  Is the medical industry experimenting on humans and serves no purpose but to sterilize, shorten life, contribute to cult of depopulation, and further establish the devaluing of life.

Media Control:  Truth in media, even in presenting political views.

Citizen Arraigned Grand Jury:  The right of the people to petition publicly for grand jury hearings and indictments beyond the limits of politically appointed prosecutors and judges.

Article I Amendment:  Limit representation to one per fifty thousand.

Secure Elections:  Establish open-source oversight accessible to all Americans.  Create block chain record keeping.

Language:  The United States is and historically has been an English-speaking nation.  Assimilation requires an adaptation to America and not the other way around.

Fiscal Responsibility:  Lower taxes and deregulate.  Stop subsidies to corporations.  Make all government contracts and financial exchanges with private corporations open source and auditable to all of American society.

America’s Youth:  Priority one, we support and encourage America’s youth with education and understanding so that they can go forward and defend the greater quality of life that our founders proposed they have.

Education:  Establish control and influence on every level of American education to emphasize real education without political indoctrination and prioritize American history and civic and constitutional knowledge.  Put far greater focus on problem solving than memorization.

Free Trade And Capitalism:  Socialism has no place in the American Ideal.  Goods and services and how they are expressed, free of legislative protections, goes further to grow quality of life than other system of economics could.

Gun rights And Crime:  All gun control laws are a violation of the 2nd Amendment.  Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground should not only be the law of the land, but should also be continually upheld and affirmed by law and the judiciary.

Prison reform:  America’s current prison system is a symptom of the problem.  Instead of teaching offenders to be more offensive and using inmates to punish inmates, America’s prison environment should be centered on correction and education, reestablishing civic duty and historical understanding with a direct pathway to reestablish as citizens and not forever outcasts.

Sanctuary Cities:  Any law or action that is repugnant to the constitution and harmful to the communities in which they are enacted must be apposed and struck down.
